    Project Specialist for preparation and implementation of Just Transition Fund

    Salary conditions (gross): From EUR 1,178.50 gross/ The resulting salary is competitive with the private sector and will depend on the candidate’s experience and expertise.

    Job Information:  We are looking for a motivated colleague with experience in strategic planning and investment management to join the team to work on the preparation and implementation of the Just Transition Fund to address the economic, environmental and social impacts of the transition to a low-carbon economy in eligible regions.

    Organisational Unit: Strategic Investment and Transnational Programmes Department, Innovation, Strategic Investment and Analysis Directorate General (HUB)

    Further description: The Directorate General for Innovation, Strategic Investments and Analyses (SISIA) is a unit of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation of the Slovak Republic, which is responsible for coordinating transnational programmes, planning strategic investments, supporting development in the field of research, development, innovation and smart agenda, preparing analytical documents for effective decision-making and coordinating activities related to the subject areas within the competence of the Ministry. The Department of Strategic Investments and Transnational Programmes is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Just Transition Fund.

    Job Description, powers and responsibilities:

    Brief description of activities:

    • Methodological preparation of documents and active participation in the development of strategic documents, supporting documents, instructional materials, forms for the collection of project plans;
    • Ensuring the preparation process and coordination of the implementation of the Just Transition Mechanism;
    • Ensuring active participation of relevant stakeholders in the process of development and implementation of the Just Transition Plan;
    • Active participation in the development of project pipelines;
    • Contributing to the preparation of state aid schemes;
    • Coordinating and ensuring the exchange of information related to the preparation of the disbursement of funds from the Just Transition Mechanism with selected EU Member States;
    • Organisation and coordination of working meetings with the European Commission in the process of preparation and implementation of the Mechanism Plan;
    • Coordination of the activities of the working groups for the preparation and implementation of the Just Transition Plan;
    • Performance of tasks related to the preparation and implementation of technical assistance in the process of collecting, evaluating project plans, in the actual implementation and development of preparatory and project documentation of individual submitters;
    • Participating in the preparation and provision of communication on the activities within the framework of the preparation and implementation of the Just Transition Plan towards stakeholders as well as the professional public, including the preparation of documents for the Ministry representatives for meetings and speeches related to the topic of equitable transformation.

    Candidate requirements:

    Education and experience requireda second-level university degree or higher, at least 2 years‘ experience in methodology, state aid, project management

    Foreign language skills: English (level B2 and above)

    Additional knowledge

    • Microsoft Word – Advanced
    • Microsoft Excel – Advanced
    • Microsoft PowerPoint – Advanced
    • Microsoft Outlook – Advanced

    Additional requirements: Proficiency with PC and IT, Internet and related tools and browsers, online collaborative working tools (e.g., Office 365 – OneDrive, SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.) – regular user.

    • Experience in methodical preparation of strategic documents, or experience in preparation of state aid schemes or project management;
    • Candidate experience and/or expertise in relevant areas within the scope of the activities supported by the FST (such as hydrogen technologies, RES, labour market skills, etc.) is an advantage.
